Now that the Apple Cider Vinegar wonder has taken cared of my falling hair issue, the quest to thicker locks is on and Avalon Organics Botanicals – Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner were right there for the picking when I was doing my “organic” Healthy Options shopping last month.
First off, I’ll tell you what Avalon Organics Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner DO NOT CONTAIN:
- sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate
- parabens
- harsh preservatives or grapefruit seed extract (there are reports that some develop thrush from this)
Avalon Organics Biotin B-Complex Thickening shampoo and conditioner have 100% vegetarian ingredients. Of course, I still was not sure if it will deliver when I got hold of it. Three weeks since I first used it and I don’t think I can conclude just yet.
My first impression was that it was extra rough on my hair. I even thought the “thickening” was an illusion because my hair was out of sorts after my first use. I swear I saw a few falling hairs too after having not seen a whole bunch since I used the Apple Cider Vinegar concoction. That was on the first few times I used the shampoo. But not as bad as before. But now it has mellowed a tad. So methinks I’m giving this product a shot. Two months, tops.
There are a handful of other Healthy Options goodies I am so loving. One of which I’m seriously thinking of “copying.” It was actually my husband’s idea to have my father who is a licensed Chemical Engineer concoct a similar product. Backed with more than half his life concocting several formula, from one of our more famous local colas to juices and probably a few more I was not told about. No, it won’t be as easy as bulk cd duplication. But I am pretty excited about the idea of coming up with a local version of my most favorite organic product. 
As for this Thickening shampoo, you really CANNOT use it alone. A conditioner is a must or you’ll step out of the bath with tangled and unruly hair. As these hair products do not say that they are for hair growth, I’m really not expecting them to do that. Since thickening is their claim, so I’m hoping by the end of two months my hair won’t be as fine as they are now. Will surely update this post in the next couple of months. The humidity that we have been experiencing are a little over the top even before summer has officially started. I would like to think that it has a lot to do with that. But I think my skin is fine with my twice a week usage of this particular Avalon Organics tandem. Nothing of the white head break out has happened since.
