Turning back the clock with Luxe Skin Rejuvenation Light Therapy

  • Posted on May 4, 2012 at 12:09 pm

The advent of Wellness Generation paved the way for people to not just embrace healthy living but also go into exceptional lengths when it comes to maintaining the skin’s youthful glow. While there are a bunches of more invasive procedure, the non-invasive ones, I will always personally favor.

Having tried the RF (radio frequency) treatment a few times, I really did not see much of a difference. But there is this new anti-aging light therapy/treatment that has caught my attention.

This Luxe Skin Rejuvenation Photofacial Device by Tanda is something I can make use of in the comforts of my own home. Yes, I’m a homebody like that.  Being a non-fan of the metro’s otherwise permanent and horrendous traffic, leaving the house for a facial treatment will never really be on top of my priority list.  The biggest plus is this, it only costs a fraction of the price of a couple of RF treatment packages.  How’s that for savings! :-)

Post Trial Result: Gloww Capsules

  • Posted on April 11, 2012 at 5:49 pm

One of the two essentials I made sure I got packed in my luggage before we flew for Vietnam and Cambodia was Gloww Capsules. The other one was my trusty insect repellent spray. We were told that mosquitoes are really huge in Cambodia and we are not risking our son getting dengue again. The other one is my current skin regimen favorite, Gloww.

Now that I’m done with the two months trial of Gloww Capsules, I can say that I am pretty impressed how my skin stayed just as fair despite the tours that involved a whole lot of sun exposure. Now, just to give you ladies an idea how hot it was in Cambodia. Imagine, the Manila heat, then add half of all the scorching heat to that. I would have stayed in the hotel, if it were up to me. But my very active hubby who loves the outdoors won’t allow me to throw away our once in lifetime vacation just like that. It was actually our first one full week getaway ever! :-)

Aside from sunblock, the whole time we were in Vietnam and Cambodia, there was no other skin care product I used but Gloww Capsules.  I did not bother pack my usual night cream. My toiletries bag was just way too full already and besides, I thought my skin can make use of the needed break too.  :-)

Looking closely at Gloww Capsules

As someone who is partial towards “natural,” a supplement of whatever kind, only catches my attention when its ingredients are made of such and at the very least, BFAD approved. This is what I saw Gloww Capsules to be.

Aside from Gloww Capsules being both. Gloww also has not added preservatives, chlorinated solvents and artificial flavors like most  supplements that are commercially available. Yes, even those that claim to be “all natural.”  I did some research and saw that there are a handful of good feedback from actual users of this product.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Hair Loss, Who Would Have Thought!

  • Posted on January 31, 2012 at 1:14 pm

Apple Cider Vinegar for Hair Loss, Who Would Have Thought! I was never good at typing out titles for my posts, but those words right there just about spell out how I feel right now, even after a couple of weeks of seeing for myself the wonders of my holy grail of hair loss, my ever persistent hair issue. Yes, I’ve tried a bunch of hair loss shampoos including Phytocyane by Phyto Paris and Human Nature’s Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner. With Phytocyane, my hair loss became worse and as for Human Nature, no improvement at all.  But the latter was not put to waste since both my boys are now using SLS free toiletries as well. Yay!

My discovery of Apple Cider Vinegar being an effective hair loss remedy came by chance.  I have been suffering from some form of acid reflux since last month. I cannot seem to take in anything without feeling nauseated. I have been eating small portions of food frequently since. Because I wanted to steer clear of having to go visit the doctor and be given tons of synthetic medications and antibiotics, I just thought I’d do my homework by searching for a natural way to cure my tummy issues. Apple cider vinegar or ACV as health forum people would have it, came up more than once. It kind of did not make sense to me at first since my issue is leaning towards hyperacidity and the cure for it is to treat it with another kind of acid? I know! My exact thoughts! But then again, it has been working and has kept me out of the doctor’s clinic.

Nivea Pure & Natural

  • Posted on June 1, 2011 at 8:12 pm

When the Nivea Pure and Natural line arrived at my doorstep a few weeks before we left for Bohol, I did not quite expect anything special about it, really. What could be so special about deodorants anyway, right? I quickly threw one of the bottles in our luggage and thought I’d try it when I get to our getaway place. In all my years, I still have not found a deo that I can consider a favorite. Most that are available in the market are powder scented, if not, too floral. Both of which my olfactory sense don’t approve of.

Flawless Body Scrub Review

Flawless Body Scrub

The very first impression I’ve had of Flawless in SM Megamall is that they have a very accommodating staff. I think this alone can make or break one’s brand. I love it that even as I headed in for my first try of Flawless Body Scrub, that made me feel comfortable to spend more than an hour with nothing but my birth suit.

My Clarity Facial Spa Experience at the BDJ Fair

  • Posted on October 25, 2009 at 11:00 pm

The Belle de Jour Fair was a blast, to say the least.  I came just about in time to be able to taste the kikay booths around at its freshest.  After registering at the media section and getting my press kit, I went around, took shots and dipped in the hair stylistics of the people behind Azta Salon (post about it later).  After that I took more pictures of the booths I haven’t gone to yet and I was welcomed by the sweet smiles of Maan and another lovely lady representative of Clarity.

They encouraged me to try out Clarity facial spa.  I was at first hesitant for fear of having the same consequence when I went to try out some diamond peel on my face some months back at a different beauty center.  My face got bruised for days on end! (hematoma like bruising all over my face).  Maan assured me that the facial spa will be very mild and safe even for ladies who are undergoing chemical peel.  So I went.

Kefir Makeup Remover and Facial Mask

  • Posted on September 17, 2009 at 1:00 am

kefir maskIt has been close to a month since our household has welcomed kefir, which is a natural probiotic that has practically endless benefits to our health. The most natural offshoot of doing the everyday kefir smoothie, is my learning to do the facial kefir mask and the kefir make-up remover.

Although my welcoming this kefir make-up remover did not exactly leave my favorite Clinique Take the Day off make up cleanser stashed away in my dresser drawer, it is still a great natural alternative I turn to every so often. The kefir make up remover recipe is pretty simple. All you need is a teaspoon of almond oil and 2 tbsps. of milk kefir and that’s it. Mix them together. Dip the cotton into the concoction, then cleanse your skin away naturally.

Neutrogena Wave – How to Use and Initial Review

  • Posted on August 1, 2009 at 8:17 pm

I have been using the Neutrogena Wave since I got it a couple of days back. As a techie lover of a kikay that I am, I cannot help but swoon over this trendy gadget during the launch. I so love it! Who would have thought that a gadget like this will ever be made available to the public and it is so affordable. Sure there are a handful of beauty electronics but most of them either come in really pricey or not very practical to purchase for personal use and will only be fit for beauty clinics.

Neutrogena Wave is such a fun way to deeply remove dirt, oil and makeup off my face. You really won’t miss the tingly and cool feel as the vibrating power cleanser does its job. The sweet thing about this is when I used it and some suds went into the sides of my eyes, baby, there were no tears! That’s something unexpected and I was pleasantly surprised about. :-)

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser – The New Wave in Facial Cleansing

  • Posted on July 30, 2009 at 7:32 pm

Kikay Corner was invited to the long awaited launch of Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser. The event was held in Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati. This trendy beauty gadget has been around in other countries for a while now. I just learned from the Neutrogena people that we are the 5th country in Asia to actually have an access to it locally. I will be trying it out in the coming days. Meanwhile, allow me to share with you, girls, the press release of this innovative beauty Product.

Neutrogena introduces the revolutionary Deep Clean Wave

Manila, Philippines, 30 July 2009 – What do the Volkswagen beetle, computer mouse, cell phone, laptop and iPod have in common? They are all gadgets that have earned a place in history, as these iconic inventions, in one way or another, made history and changed people’s lifestyles.

Neutrogena, the brand most recommended by dermatologists, is making history today as it transforms women’s daily facial cleansing routine with the introduction of the Neutrogena Deep Clean Wave, the gold standard in facial cleansing. This newest offering from Neutrogena is a revolutionary power cleanser in a compact vibrating applicator form, clinically proven to be more superior than traditional cleansing. Its tingly, cool foam penetrates deep into the pores, cleaning the skin 10x deeper than traditional facial cleansing methods. The vibrations of the device stimulates the skin’s surface while creating a massaging action that opens pores to remove more dirt, oil, and make-up, leaving the skin softer and smoother after just one use.
