Before we got hold of Nautreal, the scars were holding up even after almost a couple of months since the cautery procedure.

Almost 2 months after the wart removal procedure, the scab marks were still all over the place.

Three weeks of using Nautreal Beauty Products and the scab marks have faded a great deal. Most of them, to some degree are  non-existent. The two marks that remain on the hubby’s left cheek are his moles. The ones that used to surround them on the former picture, which were scars from the scabs are practically all gone! I first encountered the Nautreal Beauty Products during the Noel Bazaar at the World Trade Center. It was our girls night out. Bff Beth threw us a Wensha Spa treat. My friends and I figured while we’re there, we might as well check out the bazaar right smack our favorite spa place. Amidst all the various stuff on sale, real and knock off brands, cigar specials and even food stuff, I was taken aback when I saw this sign on Nautreal’s corner that says, “See Results in 1 Week or Your Money Back.” Now, that’s something we don’t see around everyday. That is one brave statement. You just don’t say things like that when you are not sure that you can’t deliver. You just don’t. So I just had to stop and have a look-see.

Because I have kind of gotten very particular with stuff I use on our skin, I had to ask Nautreal business owners Diane and Paul Tan, who formulated the beauty products. I was told that their products were developed by chemists and dermatologists. Sweet! That’s a major concern answered for me.

The Nautreal Perfect White Kit retails for P1,100 contains:  Whitening Papaya Soap, UV Protect Cream with SPF30, Whitening Facial Cleanser, and All Out Whitening  Cream

This is what the hubby has been using. We are way impressed! What I love about this skin care line is that they are so easy to apply and I honestly find the steps easier than your usual multi-steps skin care line. Yes, I was impressed enough that I recently began sharing this product with my more than willing product tester.

Daytime:
1. Whitening Papaya Soap
2. UV Protect Cream – apply all over face and neck

Night Time:
1. Whitening Papaya Soap
2. Whitening Facial Cleanser (Active Ingredients: Licorice Extract, Mulberry Extract and Witch Hazel) – moisten cotton ball then apply on face in a circular motion
3. All-out Whitening Cream (keep refrigerated) – apply all over face and neck

Easy peasy. This is actually the first multi-step skin care that I have gone beyond two weeks. If I were to try out one, I find myself  dropping them altogether on the third day.

Since I only had to replace the usual stuff that I use, ushering these products to my daily routine was easy. I stashed my usual Neutrogena Body Oil (which I’ve been using for the past 15 years) and my usual SPF lotion in the drawer for now. I have been using the Nautreal Bare-able line for almost a month and I honestly think I have come to love them. I’m almost out of the Nautreal Evening Lotion, so I would need to have that replenished soon. I will probably order the big bottle, this time. As for its whitening effect, I really don’t find a very dramatic change on my skin. But then again, it’s probably because I’ve been considerably fair to begin with. But I sure am loving the Evening Lotion. My skin feels moisturized up to the day after. As for the Whitening Body Hydrant with SPF30, I kind of find its moisturizing quality lacking as I would sometimes notice some parts of my skin needing some reapplication by midday. It could also be our unforgiving tropical weather these days.

Nautreal Apricot Body Scrub

As a scrub kind of person, I do love the moisturizing feel of Nautreal Apricot Body Scrub. But in a way, I find its texture kind of lacking  in granules. I am just not sure if they have a reason they formulated it this way. But I have gotten the hang of body scrubs that are rich in granules.

My husband and I are loving Nautreal Skin Care Products, that’s for sure. We’re soon to order our replenishment for their Perfect White line and the Nautreal Bare-able Evening Lotion, in its huge bottle this time.  Vouching for Nautreal is inevitable, even as I find their products the gentlest whitening products I have used. Jet Peel is said to be an effective superficial peel that helps rejuvenate the facial skin. As a late bloomer when it comes to facials, I decided to give this one a shot. Jet peel makes use of pressurized oxygen to accelerate a liquid agent to supersonic velocities creating an exfoliating and whitening effect on the skin. Per Session a client will be charged with P300. But if it will come with a full facial, price tag will be P800.

The cleaning and the pricking procedure were basically what took it a while to be done. The procedure of Jet Peel itself was quick. Fifteen minutes tops and that’s it. What I like about Active White is that their aestheticians are knowledgeable in their department. I had two treatments done with them to date. They might even pass for professionals who have jobs in healthcare.  Because their answers to my queries do make sense. They explained to me in detail why they had to prick out milia and whatnot. Because in the middle of the facial cleaning, I just had to back out and say to go right ahead with the jet peel proper. I think the pain during facial procedures is something I still have to get used to.

The Regular Flawless White Facial (P560) does the job of exfoliating the dead layer of the skin. The Whitening Mask that is applied during the former contains non-toxic and non-photosensitive substance that lightens and evens out the skin tone for clearer and luminous skin. The Flawless White Advanced Facial (P880) is a step up as it restores the balance of the skin for crystal clear and rosy look by moisturizing and smoothening of the skin. Noticeably brighter complexion, a more even skin tone, transparency in old acne scars and discoloration from the sun.

Facials in Flawless are always jumpstarted with this very refreshing foaming facial wash. Pardon the shot, I didn’t know that the flash was turned off. Now I know you’d understand why there was no way I can get that captured.

I know that you see facial hair too and believe me I almost panicked when I went about to interrogate if my hair won’t grow back and make me look like a hairy beast of sorts.  This scraping procedure where the facialist used a surgical knife is necessary for better product absorption of the whitening mask that was applied on my face.  And it definitely won’t make my facial hair grow back like crazy as my very creative mind would have me imagine.

Flawless is the very first beauty place I have been to that uses gauze in between my skin and the laser stick. They explained that this is a layer of protection from the direct beam of the laser to the skin, which can be quite powerful in electro something figure.

The Mask! Yes, you can say that with me again! It was the first mask I’ve had that covered all parts of my face save for the holes in my nose! But this is what practically sets it apart from the regular whitening facial that Flawless has. It was relaxing through and through. I stepped out of Flawless that day feeling light (the scraping must have done it) and refreshed, with a tad clearer face too. For some reason, I’ve always felt hesitant getting my face done in beauty aesthetic places. Sure, I’ll take on spa, scrubs in a heartbeat. But not procedures on my face. But this Flawless first timer was pleasantly surprised that there is a resident doctor to accommodate my concerns as I went to visit Flawless in SM Marikina.

Dra. Faye Candao, SM Marikina’s Flawless resident doctor is one sweet practitioner to boot. She first of all, made me feel at ease and gave me a list of procedures that I can choose from. I am much of a fickle mind that it took us quite a bit before I finally settled on Easy Peel. But she was patient through and through. This for me made a whole difference. Because it totally erased my former mindset (hesistation, if you may) I’ve always had for beauty places, Flawless, for this matter. The most I’ve had done on my face in the last year was when I got hold of my Betty Boop lashes and that was it.

I first asked what would be the procedure that will be done in no time. We thought we’d settle for the Flawless White Injectable (Glutathione). But I later changed my mind. Because a single shot won’t have much of a difference. Although I’m pretty sure to benefit from the anti-oxidant properties, it won’t be enough for me to see anything “review-worthy”  just yet. That is unless I decide to take on a 6 week program of 2 shots per week. That would be a long shot, since I still have a year and a half more to wait until I pay off Lady Rouge.

And because I wanted to try out something that I can see a considerable difference after the procedure and the healing process are done, Easy Peel it is.

The Easy Peel Procedure

Seeing the Easy Peel procedure from the Flawless menu of services did not appeal to me at first. It turns out the “easy” on the Easy Peel wasn’t to be underestimated. You know the part in our brain that qualifies and disqualifies what “should” be good and what might be “so-so”. I did want to road test this beauty procedure even as I have some tiny sun spot issues on my left cheek.

The Easy Peel procedure uses Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) which smooths out fine surface wrinkles, removes superficial blemishes and corrects pigment problems. Considerations when undergoing peels that has TCA are:

• Can be used on neck or other body areas
• May require pre-treatment with Retin-A or AHA creams
• Treatment takes only 10-15 minutes
• Preferred for darker-skinned patients
• Peel depth can be adjusted
• Repeat treatment may be needed to maintain results
• Sunblock must be used for several months
• Healing is usually quick, much quicker than with a phenol peel

All medical procedures in Flawless are done by their resident doctors.  You will not be thrown off to random aestheticians, no matter how well trained they may be if it is going to be a medical procedure like this one.  The mixture of the solution and the application of the medicine that was layered on my skin was done by Dra. Candao, no less. This gave me the confidence in Flawless all the more.

The Easy Peel procedure will set you back P3,000. But I’d say, it is well worth it.  My sun spots may not have disappeared altogether. But it definitely lightened a notch or two. I still can’t post pictures as some portions of my face are still on peeling mode.

I am planning an appointment to get my mom a pampering treatment. They have an array of services that could very well cater to her. I’m prioritizing this over the life insurance for seniors that I initially planned out to give her. She has one already anyway, so a mother and daughter beauty bonding should be in set very soon.

The very first impression I’ve had of Flawless in SM Megamall is that they have a very accommodating staff. I think this alone can make or break one’s brand. I love it that even as I headed in for my first try of Flawless Body Scrub, that made me feel comfortable to spend more than an hour with nothing but my birth suit.

The Body Scrub pampering got me sprawled naked for hours with not much access to my camera. I figured I’d relish the experience while I’m there. What does a body scrub do anyway and how much it costs?

The Body Scrub is one of Flawless’s most popular services.  What it does is remove dead, dry and rough skin. It also evens out skin tone and improves skin texture by providing a natural glow.  It restores the luster to dehydrated skin and invigorates dulled senses.  All that pampering will set you back a couple of grand, which in my honest opinion, worth every centavo.

My therapist for my body scrub was Amy.  She has been with Flawless for 9 years already. Dating back from the days when Rosanna Roces was still one of  its endorsers. Oh yes! There were lots of  ”chikas” in between too.  Her expertise is pronounced from the process of her scrubbing my whole body with sea salt to the application of the bleach cream and the whitening lotion.  I had to rinse in between the application of sea salt and bleach cream. Although I’ve done massages, there is nothing like this kind of scrub wherein I’m stark naked. But Ate Amy made me feel really comfortable through and through.  It’s rejuvenation at its best! Crazy cystic acne is a nightmare that is faced by many. Although I did not exactly experience having one (thank heavens for the good genes that my folks passed onto me), this is really a frustrating, even embarrassing experience, at least for the people I have encountered who had to deal with one.

Aside from having the dermatologist do his job to extract that nasty acne, there are in fact a good number of things we could do to naturally get rid of severe acne. Like a good diet, for instance. Regular exercise should help as well, as it naturally get rids of accumulated toxins through sweat. Application of tea tree oil can also help. You actually do not need those pimple sticks that “has tea tree oil.” Might as well buy a small bottle of tea tree oil per se and use cotton buds whenever you apply on the affected area.

Yesterday, I got my milia taken care of by a lovely dermatologist by the name of Dra. Alberto. Milia started to surface all over my face (mostly, right cheek) when I used a particular skin product. The procedure was hardly painful. Although dear doctor had to cauterize a few stubborn ones. That’s me on the picture, prepped with a topical anaesthetic on my face thirty minutes before the milia extracting procedure.  

Now, my skin is not exactly the type that gets sensitive over products. Unlike some ultra sensitive skin that even needs a particular AC filter on her unit just to make sure unwanted particles won’t go flying in the air that cause her skin some break outs.

I’m checking back with Dra.Alberto next week and I hope the parts on my face that were cauterized won’t leave scars.
