It was during my college years when I first tried out the 3 Day Diet. I saw Mary Prieto’s article in The Philippine Star and immediately got my hands on it. I reproduced it and made sure I got myself a copy for future reference.

I lost a total of 7 pounds on Day 4! All I did was follow the menu plan for three days, which wasn’t at all what you would call a crash diet. There was even one dinner meal that I thought was too much for me. The apparent reason that this diet works was said to be because of the chemical break down of the foods in the meal. I remember cheating on a ball of Maltesers during that time. But that was it. Read the rest of this entry »

The ultimate culprit to people getting sick nowadays is the unforgiving heat. As much as I would rather have our electric bill to stay to a minimum, it’s going to bring us more harm than good if we don’t have the airconditioner on for more hours a day than usual.

More and more girls are stepping into the teenage years with a negative self image. The influence can be traced right back to the value our society has subconsciously and otherwise put in their heads. To keep up with a certain social ideal of beauty will be a great disappointment to a girl who is naturally big framed. Read the rest of this entry »

Do you know that a 150 lb. person has the ability to burn 100 calories in every mile of running? But the fact remains some runners fail to keep the weight because they eat with a vengeance as soon as they are done running. Truth be told, running can be exhausting. It is possibly one of the many vigorous exercises one can do. But it is a very effective way to burn calories and shed off pounds. Petite Me

Being a petite has its perks, true. But it would really be nice if I was a teeny bitty taller. I remember being one of the tallest in early grade school. Then menarche came a little too early for me and then when the other girls had theirs, I definitely grew slower than they did. Until I got stuck at 5′. Gah.

It has been a good couple of weeks since I first tried working out using the Figure Trimmer Disc. I wish I could tell you that I’m into it religiously, but I am not. Good news is I am not about to give up on myself just yet. The fact that I could literally feel the stretch it does to my back every time I use it should tell me enough that it is one good workout to keep. Oh no, not keep hidden underneath my office desk but actually keep using it on a daily basis. :-)

I did not take it seriously when I was told that barre3 is one tough workout. I have tried yoga and the 4 minute F.I.T. workout and I survived. I was pretty confident even that I was going to breeze through it. I cannot be more wrong. barre3 is one workout that seriously took care of the muscles that were otherwise dormant in my body. I actually felt particular muscle groups that were supposed to do their job in every sequence. It was tough all right but it was really fun!

The neatest thing about working online is the bunch of new things you discover as you go along. The world wide web has become like my virtual office as I dig into things that am assigned to do by my virtual employer. Whenever I do discover new things, I cannot help but stop and search more about it.

ellipticalsHow does one keep healthy, with these parties left and right, this holiday season? I tell you it is not easy. Whenever I can at all help it, what I do is to skip lunch, if there is a party to attend to in the evening. But I make sure as well I do not starve myself, I drink kefir (a super healthy probiotic drink that I ferment myself) to kill the hunger pangs and I’m good.

The moment we start working and get real serious in the market place is the time that we welcome a surge of stress factors into our being.  Although this is an integral cycle of the human cycle, there is actually a way to manage the stressors. This is precisely why employers give the privilege of vacation leave to their regular employees for them to be able to recharge and come back to the work place more efficient and effective.
