While some women can be considered “kikay,” what exactly do we call their male counterpart? Our generation happens to coin a term especially for them – “Metrosexual Men.” They even carry their own kikay kits with them. Open it up and you’ll see not just toothbrush. But cologne, gel, powder, et.al. True! But this does not imply that they are gay. Well, these are straight men, only they choose to pamper themselves a wee bit more.

Although I knew the music “pearly shells” since I was a toddler (was probably even coaxed to dance along to it more than a couple of times), it wasn’t until Jewelmer got us to sit down on a Pearl Talk 101 event last June 25, 2010 at the Jewelmer Showroom in Eastwood mall that I truly appreciated and was totally impressed by this lone precious stone that is produced inside a living organism- the mollusk.

Basics things to know about pearls:
• Pearls are organic gems – which means they come from a living organism.
• Pears are composed of nacre. This is a natural substance produced by mollusks that also coat the inside of the animals shell.
• Mother of pearl
• Nacre is made up mostly of calcium carbonate crystallized in the form of the mineral aragonite.

A couple of weeks of using a pair of FitFlop and I am extremely pleased. I have hoped to blog about it sooner but I am lost for words. Of course, aside from the fact that I have a hefty of other responsibilities to take care of. The little guy just graduated from Preschool with Ace and Christi and we just (successfully) finished an online campaign. Yey! :-)

This post is dedicated to Kikay Moms. Traveling with kids can sometimes be very stressful, whether the little ones are toddlers or babies. But moms need not to lose their poise and get robbed of enjoying their travel time with the family.

One thing to make sure to bring with you is an infant travel bed. These little helpers are readily available in the market. Make sure what you get is the light weight type. You won’t have a need for that extra weight, believe me. Going as light as possible is the way to go.

Kikay Corner will turn two years old early next year and we’re coming up with a contest that I hope all of you will join. As you all know, I am an official distributor of Organic Thanakha products and a lover of all natural beauty products, although I still cannot stash away those that are synthetic-based. ;-) The organic thanakha cream will be at stake.  Read the rest of this entry »

Kikay Corner is contemplating on getting a netbook. Her current Core Duo cannot seem to keep up with the demands of an internet junkie. The current monster of a laptop that she has had since 2007 is barely turned off. If at all, the trusty internet partner is turned off – once a month and that’s it. Otherwise it is always in its sleep mode.

From our research, Intel Atom is our best shot if we want a diligent machine for a hardware. So that leaves me with Lenovo S10, MSI Wind, HP Mini, Eee PC and Asus N10.

asus-n10

Asus N10 does look promising with this specifications to boot:
*Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz Processor
*512 KB L2 Cache, 533 MHz Front Bus speed
*2 GB DDR2 RAM
*160 GB or 320 GB SATA Hard Drive for E or J
*10.2″ diagonal WSVGA (1024 x 600) Widescreen Display
*Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS with 256MB Dedicated Graphics Memory switchable (for J only) to Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (Intel GMA for E only)
*802.11a/b/g/n Wireless
*Card Reader
*Bluetooth
*6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery
*Licensed Windows Vista
*SmartLogon facial recognition
*Fingerprint reader
*Weight 3.5 lb

I love that it has 256MB dedicated graphics memory that is switchable to Intel GMA, if Kikay Corner would want to save battery. But that feature is only available for the J model. Asus N10 comes in 2 models. The other one is the E model. I also have an option to use a 6 cell battery. This is also available in MSI Wind. This will give me longer battery life. Up to 12 solid hours. That SmartLogon facial recognition should also be a plus.

But I also adore the eye candy HP110.
