Contest Alert: The Royal Power of Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Giveaway

  • Posted on September 23, 2011 at 1:21 am

I have been curious about Nivea Visage Q10 Plus ever since I have heard that the Duchess of Cambridge herself, Kate Middleton, was spotted purchasing a jar of Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Day Cream for £5.10. Anyone would have expected someone of her prominence will be patronizing higher end brands. She is said to be a fan of this Nivea Visage Q10 Plus collection as well.

This is why as soon as my current moisturizer runs out, I’m going to give this Nivea Visage Q10 Plus range a try.  I have to consider as well, of course, if the consistency of the products can fit our very humid tropical weather. I will let you know how it fares then. But given my loyalty to a few of Nivea’s products like the Express Hydration lotion, I actually have high hopes about this.

These Nivea products are currently sitting on my dresser and waiting for their queue. Like I generally would, before I use products for my skin, I make sure I know what it is made of and what it purposed to do. Allow me to do that just now.

The Nivea Visage Q10 Collection is said to diminish the appearance of wrinkles with its Q10 ingredient.  Since I am much of a fan of organic stuff, I have heard a lot about this Q10 co-enzyme being available through natural supplements. This is actually the first time I heard that it is used by a skin care line. Why not, when Q10, being a co-enzyme can work as an energizer that allows our skin to regenerate because of its anti-oxidative properties, right?  This is generally what this Nivea range is all about, to keep wrinkles at bay. As someone who is turning 35 in a few days, this is something I think I can make use of.

House of Obagi’s Latest: Obagi 360 (The Complete Obagi System)

  • Posted on August 20, 2011 at 9:56 pm

It was in October 2010 when I was first given the privilege to not only get to know more about the The House of Obagi. I was also able to try the system for myself — the Obagi Condition & Enhance System, to be exact. It was not long after when I became a believer of the Obagi Professional C Serum. I love both, to this day!

Last Wednesday, I was reunited with fellow beauty bloggers for a lovely get together dinner at the Museum Cafe in Greenbelt 4, Makati. We were introduced to their latest, The Obagi 360 System. Our table was lucky to have dermatologist Dr. Allan Pua to indulge us with all our questions.

All of us girls in the table were in total disbelief when this good doctor told us that he was already 34 years old!  He could easily pass for a 20 year old, right?  In between the other girls’ gushes around the table, Dr. Allan Pua answered all the questions we have about skin care. I was looking into undergoing the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance procedure. So I asked him if it will be safe to have that done when I’m TTC. He told me against it. But he said that if I am sure that I’m not pregnant, then it is safe to try it out since the product that will be used will not stay long on the skin and the body’s overall system. Getting that answered meant a lot to me since I was not going to take any chances even for the sake of a better skin. Thanks, Doc! :-)

Before and After Photos. Really, there’s no need to say more. The proof is all there. Obagi works! :-)

Nivea & Mango’s Glam Express Event + Express Hydration Raves

  • Posted on August 13, 2011 at 10:09 pm

When I received this Express Hydration package from Nivea last May, I honestly thought it was just another beauty product. It was timely that the lotion that I was currently using has already run out. I was actually pretty impressed how it actually delivers to its promise. So when I received a press invite for the Nivea & Mango Glam Express event, I knew I just had to go.  There are only two kinds of events I go  to nowadays — brands that I actually like and use and brands that I think might add value to my blogs.

Nivea Hydration Express Product Description:

The new ultra-light body lotion with sea minerals contains the innovative Hydra IQ active ingredient that has been developed specifically for the needs of normal to dry skin. It keeps the skin soft and supple, envelops it in the subtle scent of blue lotus and leaves a refreshed feeling.

The one-of-a-kind formula with Hydra IQ makes body care a long-lasting intense experience. It provides a non-stop supply of moisture to the skin – longer than ever before. This is based on the worldwide exclusive Nobel Prize technology, which promotes optimum moisture supply and distribution from within – for over 24 hours. NIVEA Express Hydration Body Lotion is not only effective for an extra-long time, but is also absorbed by the skin extraordinarily quickly and thus helps repair the eight signs of dry skin: dry, redness, rough, tight, flaky, dull, itchy and peeling.

NIVEA Express Hydration Body Lotion has been developed with dermatologists and skin compatibility is clinically and dermatologically proven.

The collaboration of Nivea and Mango for this event can’t be more thought of. Because the ideal canvas, really, to a good get up is smooth skin. Mango, is the perfect avenue for Nivea Express Hydration to be introduced to some members of online and print media. Those who arrived early were asked to form a group of three, mix and match Mango’s latest collection in the fastest possible time. Two of the three were to be the ones picking the clothing pieces and the other one will be the model. The group who finished the fastest won and went home with fab goodies from Nivea and Mango.

Dermatix Ultra Scar Eraser Review

  • Posted on August 9, 2011 at 2:04 pm

For some reason, the klutz in me spring up from time to time, making this Dermatix Ultra scar remover very handy. I have read that these moments are not uncommon to us, ladies, when hormones go berserk during our time of the month. I usually get minor bruises or trip here and there. Nothing major as my shin skin scraping off until one night last June. It was crazy painful! But I can only be thankful that I was wearing pjs. Else, I could have scraped myself to the bone! Ouch!

1 week old wound

Here’s much I can tell, for a moment there, I really felt like I saw stars and birds circling my head on impact. It happened during the time when the rain was pouring hard. So screaming for help wouldn’t have done me any good. It was also too owie to let out a scream! I struggled to get up and helped myself as I limped my way back to the house. It was crazy for me to go out and walk in the dark anyway. What was I thinking! :-(

It was then that I remembered this lady over at a drugstore approaching me about Dermatix Ultra some months back. I did not pay much attention to it much since I don’t have major boo boos that needed some erasing. A couple of weeks after the incident I went to the drugstore to check this out.

A delightful night on skin moisture by Dove

  • Posted on July 1, 2011 at 2:28 pm

After swinging by the salon for a much needed hair makeover last week, was an intimate dinner by Dove, with fellow beauty bloggers held at Japan Room in Ascott Hotel in Makati. I know I have practically made myself scarce when it comes to events lately. For a good reason, of course. My schedule is loaded and I have my priorities to zero in to.  But skin care is something that’s really close to my kikay heart. So, I gladly squeezed that in my book. :-)

Gem Laforteza of Unilever started off the discussion as he told us what to expect of this intimate Dove event.  Everything will be basically about the importance of proper skin moisturization.

The Magnitude of Moisture was discussed by Dermatologist Dra. Tiongson.  From the basic parts of the skin, skin types, to the types of moisturizers and their functions.

For reference, Skin Types are categorized as such:

1. Oily Skin

  • Abundance of sebaceous glands
  • Young people

2. Dry Skin

  • Dry on the cheeks and jawline
  • Over 50 years of age

3. Normal – Combination Skin

  • Oily skin on the forehead, nose and chin
  • Drier skin on the skin and neck

Nivea Pure & Natural

  • Posted on June 1, 2011 at 8:12 pm

When the Nivea Pure and Natural line arrived at my doorstep a few weeks before we left for Bohol, I did not quite expect anything special about it, really. What could be so special about deodorants anyway, right? I quickly threw one of the bottles in our luggage and thought I’d try it when I get to our getaway place. In all my years, I still have not found a deo that I can consider a favorite. Most that are available in the market are powder scented, if not, too floral. Both of which my olfactory sense don’t approve of.

Nivea Sparkling White Range

  • Posted on May 28, 2011 at 9:56 am

A couple of days before we flew to Bohol, I got this Nivea Sparkling White Range at my doorstep. I knew it is something I will need to try as soon as I come back from our getaway. Since we were heading for the beach, I threw a couple of Nivea Sun Care products I received last month in our luggage to keep our skin protected. We sure did a whole lot of sun bathing in Bohol. But look, Ma, no sunburn! I love Nivea! :-)
