Power Over Cervical Cancer

Fact: Seven Filipino women die of cervical cancer, a kind of cancer that puts every woman at risk, regardless of race, age, lifestyle or socio-economic status.

Cervical cancer continues to be a major threat for Filipino women. It is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among Filipinas. What’s worrisome is that two in three Filipinas diagnosed with cervical cancer may die within five years. Since culturally, Filipinas are known to be caring and selfless for others but tend to dismiss concerns about themselves, those who may have contracted cervical cancer may have been diagnosed at a late stage, when the chances of recovery are slim.

Women in the workplace

Statistics tell us that women have achieved a lot in the workforce and based on the current figures as well, the projection of how women will dominate the corporate world is almost inevitable. Now this is not saying that this is not a good thing. It can actually be good for companies even as they anticipate the kind of team they are going to have and probably design a plan that will help them accomplish more. This then becomes a win-win situation, to say the least.

A New You in 28 Days

Modess and Carefree partner as they provide the women of today this website made especially for us, girls – A New You in 28 Days. The launch was held in Renaissance Hotel this morning and I couldn’t be more thrilled. For someone who is online 24/7, this will especially come in handy. It will not just allow me to plot and predict my monthly cycle, a savvy one at that, I should say. Imagine receiving an SMS via your mobile, letting you know that the “monthly visitor” is coming in two days. It will ultimately be like a life calendar, even as it is not just packed with your very own planner but is also designed to empower us, women, to achieve goals. Sweet! 🙂
