As parties comes in left and right this holiday season, it is just right to ramp it up, while you are already at it, looking fab and pretty. Last Saturday, Watsons treated us and some chosen BDO Prestige Cardholders to a grand Holiday Glam Makeover by Maybelline and L’Oreal.
The makeover workshop was jumpstarted by Maybelline New York’s Senior Makeup Artist, Harold Santos. He worked on the model and taught us some basics on the 60’s look. Particularly the winged eye look.
Although most of what Harold Santos shared were but basics, it was good to be reminded of them. Knowing how to do things the correct way do not just make for a good outcome. It also lessens the effort and makes us work on our facial canvas like a pro. One of which is how to position the mirror in such a away that it is the perfect angle for us to do the makeup application.

An hour after or so, L’Oreal proceeded with the next makeover session. Yciar Castillo, L’Oreal Paris’ Chief Make Up Artist took the floor together with her model. Here are some of the things I learned as this lovely makeup artist worked her magic on her model:
3 MUSTS in MAKE UP!!!
1. Your make up must always fit the occasion or event.
2. Your make up must always look clean and well blended.
3. Your makeup must define and enhance your facial features and skin color.
Prepping the skin before makeup:
1. Wash face with gentle cleanser.
2. Tone face.
3. Apply moisturizer.
4. Apply primer
5. Start with makeup application.
Incidentally, SM Mall of Asia will be holding the Holiday Glam Fair this coming November 18 to 24 at the Main Atrium. You might want to check that one out and learn some tricks and tips for your makeup musts. 🙂
Awww…I wasn’t able to attend the L’Oreal workshop. Ms. Yciar is so pretty ha! I want to go to their Holiday Glam fair because I can’t find that Maybelline eyebrow palette anywhere! It was nice seeing you at the event! Mwah!
Hm. Parang di lumalabas lahat ng comments ko sa WP blogs, weird. This is the third. Yung comment ko kanina, glad I saw you at the event. Sayang, wasn’t able to go through the L’Oreal part. Ms. Yciar is so pretty pala. I also want to go to the Holiday Glam Fair because I can’t find the Maybelline eyebrow palette anywhere. Sana meron dun.
I’m such a newbie with make-up. I have the first 3 requirements to prep my face for make-up, need to buy primer soon.
learning how to paint my face is one of the things I am thankful for.. I am glad I spend some studying it 🙂
