Mary Kay Moisture Renewing Gel Mask & Luminous-Wear Foundation Launch

Almost 11 years after I witnessed the launch of Mary Kay in the Philippines in 2000, I was able to attend the introduction launch of their newest Timewise skin care line additions – TimeWise® Moisture Renewing™ Gel Mask and the TimeWise® Liquid Foundations last Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

Admittedly, even as I came home with me that May 2000 night with a bag full of Mary Kay products, it was only my mother and sister who were totally into them. Fresh out of college, foundations and all other makeup stuff (save for their creamy lipsticks that I loooove) don’t really have that much appeal to me back then. Eleven years after, I have a total change of heart. Given that all skin (including mine) will go towards the inevitable – maturity, I really would rather slow it down if I can at all help it. That is probably what the norm is these days anyway.

Anti-Aging stuff in the market is the new rockstar, if you still haven’t noticed. We can see it in practically 4 of probably every 5 beauty product launches. But how do we figure out the best, right? By trying, that’s how. I love how I get invited to try these things out for myself through these launches. I just started using Mary Kay’s Moisture Renewing Gel Mask last Wednesday and the Matte-Wear Foundation last Thursday. I will surely let you know how both will fare in a month or two.

Meanwhile, the launch of Mary Kay was nothing short of fab! Aside from being intimate (which totally appeals to me over huge crowded launches) it was pamper-filled as well. I actually went because of the “Pampering Party” theme of the invite, which we ladies can really make use of, from time to time.

You’ll agree with me when I say that both are very promising products. The Moisture Renewing Gel Mask got me at powerful, multi-tasking product. I am totally lazy in doing several step beauty regimen procedure. I try but I don’t get past the third day. As for the Luminous-wear Foundation is its being transfer resistant and can stand our climate’s humidity. Even my favorite MAC Studio Fix Foundation transfers to my clothes. And its being resistant to humidity, something that we ladies, in this tropical country that we love, will find very handy. Not all foundations are built this way. 🙂

As for the pampering, I availed of the Makeover courtesy of Carmie Locsin and Mary Kay makeup products. They were three other pampering stations (facial massage, back massage and manicure) but I was to drive back home to go pick up my son for his Karate class. I love my makeup session with my beautiful makeup artist Carmie Locsin. She did not just get my face colored. She also gave me valuable tricks and tips. She’s on Facebook too, if you happen to have a need a makeup artist for your event.  She’s really good. I was pleased with the result and the Mary Kay Luminous-wear foundation hardly felt it was there at all. I also did not have to retouch the rest of the day. 🙂
