Avalon Organics Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk and Renewal Facial Cream

In my attempt to rest my skin from using a product that I love but is kind of drying my skin out, I grabbed a hold of Avalon Organics Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk and Renewal Facial Cream from my favorite health and beauty store, Healthy Options.

First off,  as per package, Avalon Organics Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk is a soap-free cleansing  agent with antioxidant protection. What it claims:

    • Skin Nourishing
    • Antioxidant Intensive
    • Sun-Aging Defense
    • For Normal to Dry Skin
    • 100% Vegetarian Ingredients
    • No Animal Testing
    • Paraben Free
    • EU Compliant

Hydrating Cleansing Milk has Vitamin C, Lemon Bioflavonoids and organic White Tea gently removes impurities while moisturizing the skin and protecting its natural balance from free radical damage generated by sun exposure.

All of what is said in the package are more than fine by me. I love its being vegan and does not contain all the other ingredients a lot of our usual and locally available beauty products have. I now have more confidence in products like this. If it was a diet supplement that I’d purchase from a store that sells all organic and certified products, I know I’d least likely  have diet pill side effects, if you know what I mean.

And yes, we have been purchasing our all organic Vitamin and Mineral supplements from Healthy Options for quite a while now too.  But no, I am not a paid endorser of this store. I just happen to really believe that choosing health comes with that step of picking out the ones that are certified.  A lot of our local brands are trying so hard to jump on the “organic” bandwagon. But it’s really just a trick they’re using. To be considered organic, a product needs at least 95% all organic products that are certified by organic certifying bodies and not just a made up certifying body that we barely have heard of.  Pinoys have that knack of being gullible in this sense, more often than not. Yes, we still have a lot to learn. 🙂

And as if they were not enough, the fact that the product is backed up by organizations that certify all organic products are listed as well:

Certified by Oregon Tilth
Certified by Quality Assurance International
Certified by Pro-Cert Organic Systems
Our Pledge. Your Assurance.
Safe, effective, pro-organic skin care without artificial colors, synthetic fragrances or parabens. EU compliant.

Avalon Organics Renewal Facial Cream is an Antioxidant-intensive cream helps smooth lines and wrinkles and provides Photo-Aging Defense.

Product description: To encourage daily skin repair and rejuvenation, this age-defying cream helps deeply rehydrate and rebuild the skin’s support structure. As collagen and elastin growth is stimulated, skin becomes smoother and more supple while the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles fades. Antioxidant-rich Vitamin CLemon Bioflavonoids, and White Tea soothe oxidative stress and help fight the visible signs of photo-aging. With use, skin awakens with a refreshed and youthful appearance.

Directions for use: Apply to face and neck after cleansing and toning. To maximize skin renewal, use overnight.

All that being said, I hope I can say that the Avalon Organics Vitamin C tandem suits my skin right.  Let’s just say, it was not my skin’s favorite. I did pick out the normal to dry skin precisely because after a couple of months of usage, the Nautreal products started to dry my skin out. I was thinking of resting from that for a while and moisturize with Avalon Organics Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk and Renewal Facial Cream. I did not exactly break out. But I began to develop some overproduction of sebum and started seeing some white head stuff on my cheek on my second week of use. I panicked and stopped altogether. I have rested for more than a couple of weeks now and I recently started to use it twice a week instead. I always knew Vitamin C is good for the skin and the skin renewal properties of these products, I can surely make use of. 🙂

I am inclined to think that this product was not exactly formulated with the tropical weather in mind. The humidity that we have been experiencing are a little over the top even before summer has officially started. I would like to think that it has a lot to do with that. But I think my skin is fine with my twice a week usage of this particular Avalon Organics tandem. Nothing of the white head break out has happened since. This is the second Avalon Organics brand I have bought from Healthy Options. The first was Avalon Organics Botanicals – Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner.

Avalon Organics Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk locally retails for P329 and Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Facial Cream for P569.

This review is spot on. I tried this before, around 5 years ago. But I didn’t try the cleansing milk, I bought the other one that foams up. Even then, sticky sya. Not for our weather talaga.
