Going Beyond Yoga

The first time I have heard about Anti-Gravity Yoga is through my friend, Ria of FatGirlNoMore.com. Aside from the obvious that it was not exactly a very conventional type of yoga, it did look rather complex. But it sure looked it was a lot of fun, I should say. Being up in the air, doing your thing, being in control and getting fit at the same time, I’m all for it.

The closest I’ve done yoga was via the Wii Fit Yoga. Yes, the lame kind. Apparently, AntiGravity Yoga is now being talked about in over 40 countries worldwide. What AntiGravity Yoga does is allow for the body is to realign,  build strength, increase flexibility, and relieve compressed joints. All of which I sure can make use of. I am so loving the hammock. I’ve always wanted to have one at home. Not for exercise though. But to slumber to dreamland, which I think will defeat my purpose towards fitness. Teehee!  That will take me to change mindsets for me to be able to do those inversions those ladies showed us during the last time I went to swing by and check out the yoga place. It sure did look like it was a lot of fun. Hopefully, I will be able to keep at this. The last time I went to this posh fitness place with wall fountain, my core gave up in an instant. I knew right there Barre3 was not for me.

Benefits of Anti Gravity Yoga:

  • AntiGravity® Aerial Yoga Benefits
  • Decompress tight joints
  • Relieving pressure while aligning the vertebrae
  • Perform advanced yoga inversions without neck or back compression
  • Hold challenging yoga postures longer and in correct alignment
  • Stretch further with less strain
  • Add an entirely new dimension to your yoga practice
  • Create better body awareness while increasing overall agility

As someone who has a sedentary lifestyle, my first concern if I were to push through with this kind of fitness routine, if it matters that I am not exactly fit. It is a relief to know that Anti-Gravity yoga can be done by practically anyone, even those like me who are not in their very flexible state yet. I know I’ll get there in no time, with discipline. 🙂

My next concern is if the hammock will be strong enough to trust my frame in. It is a comfort to know that the AntiGravity Hammock is certified to carry over 2000 lbs!

And because I am armed with this First Timer Package Gift Certificate , I am going to give this Anti Gravity Yoga a shot one of these days and I am going with my girlfriends. Catch up as well, while we are at it. Make that times three, since the First Timer Package consists of 3 AntiGravity Yoga classes which only costs P1,500. Which isn’t so bad if anyone would like to give this aerial yoga a non-committal shot. 🙂
