Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15

If there is one skin care regimen product I have stuck with through the years, it is Cetaphil. When I gave birth to my son almost 8 years ago, it was also only Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser I trusted. I was too afraid to use on his face anything that will sting his delicate eyes. We still use it to this day. Here’s another reason to love Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15.

Cetaphil Daily Facial MoisturizerMost facial moisturizing sunblock available in the market are just too greasy for my taste. I would try some for a while but never really went over a few days because of the nasty grease factor that almost always go with sunblock products. And with the unforgiving tropical humidity of Manila, it will be crazy to stick with anything slithery textured layer on my skin, face, at that. No on earth way.

Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer with sunscreen broad spectrum SPF 15 is specially formulated to be effective, light and silky-smooth—ideal for facial use.

And because I investigate on anything I put on my skin, I had to look up what Parsol 1789 is. Apparently, it is what makes the product lightweight and effective. Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about this particular ingredient of Cetaphil. This alone got me convinced that I’m covered enough from the cruel rays of the sun. 🙂

Avobenzone (trade names Parsol 1789, Eusolex 9020, Escalol 517 and others, INCI Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane) is an oil soluble ingredient used in sunscreen products to absorb the full spectrum of UVA rays. It is a dibenzoylmethane derivative. Avobenzone exists in the ground state as a mixture of the enol and keto forms, favoring the chelated enol.[1] Its ability to absorb ultraviolet light over a wider range of wavelengths than many organic sunscreen agents has led to its use in many commercial preparations marketed as “broad spectrum” sunscreens. Avobenzone has an absorption maximum of 357 nm. —  Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avobenzone

The broad spectrum factor of Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15  provides moderate protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays that can be responsible for premature lines and wrinkles. Its being ultra lightweight, aside from it being not greasy, is the best thing about it, at least for me. Especially in this summer heat, I won’t get caught not wearing Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15 under my makeup. 🙂

I should give this a try since it’s a 2-in-1 product, moisturizer and sun screen protection.

  3. I have never tried this brand, but then again, I am not into facial regimen stuff. Sounds like a great brand though.
