My Yuko Hair Straightening Makeover by Lifestyle Salon by Louis Phillip Kee + Cynos Inside Hair Care

After having experienced the benefits of Japanese rebonding/straightening system that does not kill the locks, I have no plans of going back to having my hair rebonded or straightened the traditional way in a neighborhood salon like I used to. More than a week since my Yuko Hair Straightening Treatment at the Lifestyle Salon by Louis Phillip Kee, I’m totally loving how my hair isn’t stick straight like I’m sure it would look if it was done the rebonding way, like we know it.

This is what happens when my natural waves grow out, I’m almost always in a bun!

While some may say that they’re pretty much okay with waves, my waves happen to be the wayward kind. I’ll have to style it for hours if I want it to look half presentable when they’re let down.

So well, yeah, I took the plunge. Thanks to the professional team of Lifestyle Salon by Louis Phillip Kee, my hair wasn’t cooked crisp. You see, because I have formerly rebond-treated hair and some growing out highlights here and there, the hair straightening treatment entailed a little more care than usual.

First off, What is Yuko Hair Straightening?

Yuko Hair Straightening, is also known as Japanese hair straightening. It is a world renowned, U.S. patented method recognized as the leading brand of chemical hair straightening that provides low maintenance, shiny, hassle-free straight hair.

Yuko Hair Straightening Process:

Step 1 – Consult.

This I believe is what makes salons like Lifestyle Salon by Louis Phillip Kee different from your usual ones. Lea, the Color Director who primary handled me throughout the treatment, asked a few questions, including my last Japanese rebond treatment with Akira. She also took note of my highlights. This was necessary since she mentioned about the need to apply some “nano base” treatment prior to the application of hair straightening to protect the highlights from being damaged. A consult is necessary to assess the dryness and damage level of the hair to be treated.

Step 2 – Clarifying Shampoo & Pre-Treatment

My hair was washed with clarifying shampoo and sprayed on with what they called G Base, to prepare my hair with the necessary nutrients for the processing. Nano base was also applied on my highlights for protection against damage.

Step 3 – Yuko Straightening Process

Yuko Hair Straightening Solution was applied all over my hair.

It’s noteworthy that the ladies who did my hair, made sure to do this extra step of inserting some rolls of tissue in between layers of hair. They mentioned that this will prevent the hair from looking flat, which is what is usually expected of rebonded/straightened hair. I love it! They even had that taken cared of!

Step 4 – Rinse

The solution was completely rinsed off my hair.

Step 5 – Ironing

The stylists proceeded to iron my hair by sections after blow drying.

Step 6 – Neutralizer

A neutralizer solution was applied was left for 15 minutes.

Step 7 – Rinse

Step 8 – Treatment

An argan oil treatment was applied to my hair for 10 minutes. Another thing that sets Lifestyle Salon by Louis Kee apart. A treatment like this is necessary to make sure the hair is locked in with protective nutrients that will otherwise damage the hair strands.

Cynos Inside Hair Care Body and Hair Therapy Argan Oil

The Morocco Argan Oil is known as the “Liquid Gold.” It provides luxurious pampering treatment enriched with essential fatty acids and Omega 6 ensuring functions of repair defense of the skin. This innovative treatment is especially for the skin, body and hair.

For the Hair: Apply drops of Argan oil and spread from roots to ends. Leave for about an hour before shampooing. Hair recovers its brilliance, shine and suppleness. Ideal for dry and brittle hair.

I have always loved Argan oil’s effect on my hair. This one will come in handy, since my locks have been badly beat from going through one treatment after the other.

It’s good for the face too!

For the Face. Apply drops of Argan oil and massage on face and neck preferably during night time for 1 month. Skin becomes delicately soft, supple and revitalized.

I’m not sure if you’ve heard of the the ancient Chinese tradition of Gua Sha facial massage (I have yet to blog about it). But I’m going to start using the Cynos Argan oil as I do that. Gua Sha facial massage helps reduce eye puffiness, dark circles and even wrinkles! It’s beyond vanity, it’s therapeutic! I love that the Gua Sha facial massage that I call myself an advocate of, reinforces the benefits of Argan oil. Sweet!

For the Body. Ideal after bath. Gently rub on hands and massage all over the body. 2 to 3 times a week of Argan oil indulgence is said to give that radiant, soft skin-to-touch.
