What is not to love about Happy Skin? For one, how many brands are there that are actually skin caring? Not a whole lot, for sure. Being an advocate of everything natural, I choose to be intentional even in the makeup wearing department.
I’m not exactly a big fan of celebrities, whether local or otherwise, I barely know anything about Kathryn Bernardo, but when she started collaborating with Happy Skin, she’s totally got me curious. I started googling about her and I started loving her views and her overall personality. I even asked friends about her, as most of them chimed their admiration over her, even recommending a must-watch movie of hers, “Barcelona.’ It didn’t take long till I watch. Needless to say, I’m as well charmed by her personality. I’m all for authenticity, simplicity and natural – which basically sums up the makeup line she’s collaborating with Happy Skin.
For Kathryn, being hands-on with creating a makeup line has always been a dream. “And ever since, I’ve liked the quality of Happy Skin’s makeup,” she adds. “It’s very important for me that I believe in the brand.” Aside from being able to share herself in a completely different way, Kathryn sees that a makeup collaboration is the perfect avenue to express her belief that simple can be beautiful.
This is why Generation Happy Skin speaks to a new breed of women who believe that good skin is a priority and who are after effortless, everyday makeup that allow them to showcase this truth. “You can be a college student or a working mom, all kinds of people fall under Generation Happy Skin,” explains Kathryn. “We all want something that’s easy to use and effortless. You don’t need a lot to look beautiful.” The inaugural collection of Generation Happy Skin, which took two years to materialize, was developed specifically to reflect Kathryn’s personality. authentic, ace and accessible.
#KathXHappySkin: Authentic and Confident
Through her family-first values and classic approach to beauty and fashion, Kathryn has always led her personal and celebrity life with authenticity. Eventhough a lot of out-of-the-box thinking are celebrated these days just for the sake of being out of the box, Kathryn keeps herself grounded in who she is: completely confident in her simplicity.
Happy Skin’s Kiss & Bloom Lip & Cheek Tint in Serene retails for P299 has Green Tea Extract that delivers antioxidant powers, and Hops Flower Extract that nourishes skin helping it keep smooth. Seriously, what’s not to love?! 🙂
Swatching Kiss & Bloom in Serene – rich, pigmented yet . . .
. . . the flush is just right. Does not overwhelm and spreads evenly.
It also does feel weightless on the lips, spreads perfectly. But I feel that I still need to use a lip balm on top of it, as it tends to dry out a bit. It does not last as I would love it to. I find this common with natural makeup. A small price to pay for doing away with toxins, really.
Happy Skin Perfect Brows in Brown retails for P399
Perfect brows has Vitamin B5, which can be found in Sunflower Seeds, supports healthy-looking skin and is a stimulant for hair growth. I love that it’s in universal brown color (Yay! No red undertone- which I totally try to veer away from brow products) with a naturally sheer finish—eyebrows look natural, never fake or overdrawn. The anti-smudge formula lasts day to night, too!
Accessible to Everyone
Kathryn being a morena, mentioned about her former dilemma of not finding the right makeup brand for her skin tone. She loves that Generation Happy Skin caters to a wide range of skin tones. Aside from this, it is also good news to every natural makeup-loving Filipina whether Kathryn follower or otherwise, that the ace formula of Happy Skin products have accessible price points – not a single product is priced beyond P499!
