Sexy Detox for a Healthier, Sexier You

The latest to hit the “healthy juicing” lifestyle is a sensual, sort of hot-and-ticklish brand named SEXY DETOX.

In November 2013, SEXY DETOX found its way onto social media networks, particularly Facebook and Instagram. After just four months it has gained a steady stream of over 4,000 followers.

SEXY DETOX is a partnership of Atty. Reginald Tayag and Jessica Arsolon. Encouraged by Ms. Arsolon, who lost ten pounds in two weeks by juicing, Atty. Tayag became a believer in the healthy benefits of juicing. He suffered from high blood pressure and alarmingly high cholesterol levels. After getting into the healthy habit of “juicing,” his blood pressure and cholesterol levels lowered significantly.

Their great results prompted the two to conduct extensive research on “juicing”.  Atty. Tayag explains, “We need to go back to the basics of fresh fruits and vegetables.  Nowadays, we seldom eat or drink fresh. Most of the products that we buy in supermarkets have been processed in order to lengthen their shelf life. However, these processes kill the enzymes that are important in order for our bodies to digest and absorb food nutrients. Beach ready for Summer with Nestle Fitnesse

With March ushering the Summer season in, I got to thinking if I am ready for it. Our flying to the beach on the last stretch of the summer months will hopefully turn out to be a good thing. Why, you ask? Because I still have time to get ready. Yay! 🙂

Here is where my problem lies. I have attempted three work out exercises since last November. With Insanity Workout, I could hardly walk for a week straight just doing the first 15 minutes of the “Fit Test” and the warm up and stretching of “Pure Cardio.” Hip Hop Abs, I had to drop when we started the construction of our house’s second floor. Aside from my being way too swamped with things to do, I was not the most comfortable doing those Hip Hop Ab moves at my folks’s place.

The Kettlebell, I still get to do every so often. I find it easier and more doable with my current living arrangements. Limited space in our cramped room filled with both our bed and my kiddo’s bunk bed, two dressers and other personal effects. Can you just imagine the disarray state of our current living quarters! Oh well, we’re counting a few more weeks and we will finally settle in our own above.

While I know these exercises are important, a beach-ready body will only be realizable if partnered with a diet that actually works. Crash diet is definitely not for me. Fad diets never really got me interested.

Cravings: Give in or Ignore?

What do you crave for the most?

One thing I often crave for is chocolate. For me, there’s something about chocolate that just relaxes me and makes me feel better no matter how stressed I am. For others, it can be ice cream, or cake, or even worse, junk food. According to literature, one reason we crave for particular types of food is because our bodies are sending signals that these are the nutrients or chemicals our body needs for a one reason or another. However, what happens is that we end up picking the wrong types of food to give us those nutrients. Thus leading to weight gain and other not-so-nice side effects (such as pimples…eeew.)

A good diet is the best beauty secret

I would bet that almost everybody at one point or another has asked about what are the best diets that work. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but whenever you gain too much weight, or perhaps do not monitor the kinds of food you eat, it affects your entire being: physically, mentally and even emotionally. From a physical standpoint, our skin gets sallow and uneven, and we tend to retain too much water. Zits, blemishes and the like tend to happen too. We also become more sluggish, lazy and moody. That’s why it is important to remember that our diet is truly the best beauty secret..One thing that we all should remember about dieting is should not be rushed ever, so here’s to us Kikay ladies!!! 🙂

The 3 Day Diet

The only kind of diet that I have done and has worked for me back in college is called The 3 Day Diet. I will again have this to the test soon. I was then tipping my heaviest at 107lbs and lost 7 pounds on the fourth day. As per this diet’s claim, it has the ability to have one lose as much as 10 lbs. in 3 days. I did pop a Malteser (or two) on the second day. Had I followed the diet to the letter, I might have lost 3 more pounds.

Its being effective is pointed to the chemical breakdown of all the foods combined.

DAY 1
Breakfast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 slice toast with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter

Lunch
1/2 Cup of Tuna
1 slice toast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Supper
3 oz. any lean meat
1 cup green beans
1 cup carrots
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 medium apple
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

DAY2

No time for workout

While I have confessed that I am seriously contemplating getting into a diet with the help of some supplements. For the record, I have not picked one yet, so far. I am still waiting for a friend’s feedback about a particular “popular” brand.

Change wardrobes or diet?

Weeks into 2010 and I still do not feel very settled in. I have finally found the culprit and it is the fact that I cannot fit my usual clothes anymore. The holidays have surely got me bloated like never before, not to mention the lack of exercise and all the sitting down that I have done as the online jobs surged in with the brand new year.
