Lock & Lock launches latest Hello Kitty Collection

It was sometime last month when I first caught a glimpse of Hello Kitty items inside the flagship store of Lock & Lock in Eastwood Mall. I was naturally gravitated inside the store to check them out! Lock & Lock has turned into one pink Hello Kitty heaven. The hubby ever so sweetly indulged me as I went from one stand to the next. Truly an eye-candy for any Hello Kitty follower. 🙂

Imagine my delight when I received an invite to the launch of the Hello Kitty Collection of Lock & Lock at Edsa Shangri-la. No, I wouldn’t pass this up for anything. I may not have a girl for a child but this Hello Kitty-loving little girl in me is giddy over the Sanrio character nonetheless.

#iTrustU @UratexFoam, Let Me Count the Ways…

I’ve been a longtime believer of quality and durability. My family must’ve gotten this streak in me through the years that they have embraced it like a household cult as well. From the pricier beauty gadget over the cheap-o imitation, to the more expensive clothespin clothes dryer carousel made of metal to the generic made of plastic one, to our well-loved durable but affordable Uratex mattress. Purchasing durable and reliable brands will always give me more value for my money – something I have always believed and have proved true to this day.

Uratex

I don’t have to go far, let alone step out of our bedroom to prove this.  Take for instance our almost 10 year old mattress. If you remember the Typhoon Ondoy flooding in 2009,  you will know that one of the badly hit areas is Rizal. Well, we are from Rizal.

We were ready to get rid of our Sleep Comfort Memory Foam Mattress in the above photo as the hubby was carrying it out of the house as we did the house clean up that took three long months!

To give you a glimpse of how bad our home was hit during that time, check out one of my Typhoon Ondoy posts – here.

Ondoy flooding

I wouldn’t have guessed that our Uratex mattress would still see the light of day after this. I was ready to give it away to people who passed by our street to find junk they can still make use of.  Imagine my delight after we had it sit under the sun for days, thoroughly cleaned and disinfected that it was as if flood waters never touched it. My son’s other branded bed was not as lucky. We gave both bed box and bed to the first passerby who expressed interest.

It was a blessing that our bed box was all wood, it practically floated, was pretty tall that the flood waters only touched the surface of the mattress that made it damp.

Uratex Sleep Comfort

As I tried to make sense of how on earth can a mattress survive the stink and horrendous devastation that is Ondoy, I realized that our Sleep Comfort Memory Mattress has been treated with Sanitized® to protect us and our mattress against germs, bacteria, dust mites, fungi, and unpleasant odors. Sweet! That explains why our bed has not deteriorated in its quality. Truth be told, my foremost reason for choosing the Sleep Comfort Memory Mattress was because of my bad back that had to see a chiropractor for years. It didn’t just address my bad back (I’ve been able to sleep comfortably since) but my preference for durability and reliability too.

Product Feature: Joy with a Touch of Olay

I totally love P&G’s newly launched dishwashing product – Joy with a Touch of Olay. Precisely because it nurtures my badly harassed skin whenever I do the dishes. For this reason, I can easily even tag this wonder of a product in the skin care category just because it takes care of my skin like I want it too. Imagine doing the chores that can otherwise dry your skin yet my skin feels moisturized. While some would suggest wearing gloves while doing their chores, I’m just not too comfy with it. Yes, as beauty-loving blogger as I am, I try my best to take care of myself too while I do my usual everyday domestic chores.

Joy with a Touch of Olay helps maintain skin’s moisture,
making it all set for “touching moments.”

Dishwashing, ironing, doing the laundry and cleaning the house. Imagine doing all these things every single day, on top of your demanding career. This is tough love. As we celebrate women’s month, lives and experiences of women are given more importance and thought. This includes the challenges of women everywhere when it comes to doing household chores.

On March 5 at the Blue Leaf- Silk Pavilion in Taguig, the trials of housework are highlighted and refreshed through Tough Love, an event that placed Mariel Rodriguez and members of the media in “tough” household situations, but with the aid of Joy with a Touch of Olay, a new dishwashing variant of P&G Joy.

Dishwashing can be a draining task. Just imagine coming home from a tiring day at work, seeing piles of plates on the sink, and getting your hands wrinkled and dry from cleaning the dishes. Joy with a Touch of Olay is especially formulated to help maintain the skin’s moisture while retaining the superior grease-fighting power of all Joy variants. It locks in moisture to create moments of pampering as one does chores.

Learning More About Amway and Direct Selling

The very first brand that made an impression on me during our first year of marriage was Amway. As a noob in taking care of my own household back in 2001, I was not exactly the most confident since I have gotten used to everything that I need taken cared of before I was married. I did find myself experimenting on brands but it was only Amway that I remember to this day that made life fairly easier as a newbie homemaker. True story.

Amway Home L.O.C.Amway Home L.O.C. (Liquid Organic Concentrate)

Enter Amyway Home L.O.C. – exactly the product I speak of. Although it was packaged differently, it is the same brand I first used some 12 years back. I just love its being versatile as I can use it practically across every corner of our home – from floors to bathroom, to the kitchen, every other nook. Cleaning is a breeze, I do not need to sweat it — literally. Of course, with my love to everything natural, it contains no harmful chemicals. Because I also take care of myself (I would be no kikay if I don’t) and I am not apologizing for it, I love it best because it is gentle enough as a hand cleanser.  🙂

amway products

As I have recently met with Amway Philippines’ Country Manager, Ms. Leni Olmedo, I have learned that Amway has been around since 1959 and the L.O.C. is one of their pioneering products and has been around since the brand started.

In the Philippines alone, Amway has six (6) distributor centers where their more than 60,000 Independent Business Owners can get a hold of their products.

Artistry Youth Xtend Softening Lotion and Rich Cleansing Foam

If there is anything I have been curious about Amway, it is their facial skincare and colour cosmetics line, Artistry. Now, I will get to try and jumpstart with these two Artistry products.

Amway Carnival Silk Eau de Cologne for Women

Amway also has a fragrance line – Carnival. Carnival contains fragrance oils from France and contains higher oil percentage than regular fragrances which make them last longer. I am personally loving the fun smell of this particular scent. I have quite a collection of fragrances and I don’t usually approve of them if my choosy olfactory nerves don’t agree. 🙂

While we all know that there are hundreds of brands out there, another thing that Amway is proud is their concentration story.  It is with pride that they vouch for their products as concentrate on concentration. Meaning, they pack every product  in such a way that consumers get the most value for their money. Unlike other readily available commercial products that are high on fillers, water and other extender ingredients. For someone who has been using their multi-purpose home cleaner (which I alternate with my very own formulation of liquid castile soap concoction) for close to 12 years now, I can personally vouch for this. Only a capful makes me 5 full liters of cleaning agent. Can we get more practical than that?

Amway makes sure it strictly complies with the Direct Selling Association of the Philippines’ (DSAP) 8 Point Test which differentiates a legit Direct Selling company from those that are otherwise considered as pyramiding scamming ones. Amway Country Manager, Ms. Olmedo belives that direct selling will continue to expand and that Beauty and Personal Care will remain the largest category in direct selling.

With our current “Wellness Generation” leaning towards organic and natural products, I personally believe that Amway products has quite an edge especially since the brand has proven its quality over the years.

Once Upon a Mattress

I might be a little strange, but I actually love having relatives and friends stay over night. I’m just a natural hostess who enjoys cooking for people and taking care of them. The only problem is that my place is a little bit small and we don’t have regular beds for anyone but the kids and my husband and I. Worse, our couch is nice and comfy but for it’s a little bit lumpy for sleeping and not at all right for grandma and the older aunts, uncles, and cousins who come over.
