Strip It! Hair Removal Sugaring

It was on Sesou’s FB page where I learned that they now carry Strip It! Hair Removal Sugaring Wax. The Sesou kiosk in Glorietta 3 is the one place I never fail to visit whenever I’m within the vicinity.

I first heard about Strip It! Hair Removal Sugaring Wax in one of the beauty forums that I chanced upon some years back. But because I kind of gotten the hang of visiting my favorite waxing salon, I did not bother to put effort in searching for this particular waxing solution. But I’d have to admit that there are just some days that I want to just do it myself and just try if I can at all pull it off (literally and figuratively). 😉

Mary Kay Moisture Renewing Gel Mask & Luminous-Wear Foundation Launch

Almost 11 years after I witnessed the launch of Mary Kay in the Philippines in 2000, I was able to attend the introduction launch of their newest Timewise skin care line additions – TimeWise® Moisture Renewing™ Gel Mask and the TimeWise® Liquid Foundations last Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

Admittedly, even as I came home with me that May 2000 night with a bag full of Mary Kay products, it was only my mother and sister who were totally into them. Fresh out of college, foundations and all other makeup stuff (save for their creamy lipsticks that I loooove) don’t really have that much appeal to me back then. Eleven years after, I have a total change of heart. Given that all skin (including mine) will go towards the inevitable – maturity, I really would rather slow it down if I can at all help it. That is probably what the norm is these days anyway.

Anti-Aging stuff in the market is the new rockstar, if you still haven’t noticed. We can see it in practically 4 of probably every 5 beauty product launches. But how do we figure out the best, right? By trying, that’s how. I love how I get invited to try these things out for myself through these launches. I just started using Mary Kay’s Moisture Renewing Gel Mask last Wednesday and the Matte-Wear Foundation last Thursday. I will surely let you know how both will fare in a month or two.

Maximum Fun Under the Sun with Beach Hut MAX SPF100

To put it plainly, Beach Hut MAX SPF 100 got me at SPF100.  I don’t know about you but it is the first time I encountered a sunblock lotion with that high SPF. I first saw its billboard along C-5 last week and I knew it was what I’m gonna travel with to Davao and Bohol for our summer getaway in May.  My confidence in Beach Hut came about by my previous use of their Max 75++ Clear Spray Sunblock in 2009.

So I was more than glad when I arrived at my doorstep today with this sweet package from Beach Hut to welcome me. Way before Beach Hut contacted me to get first dibs on their brand new sunblock offering, I was already a user of the product. Here’s the thing, as much as I love the vacations that happen around the summer season, more than the tanning, I really don’t like the painful feel of the sun on my skin. It hurts like crazy. Although I can experiment with practically anything on my skin and get zero to minimal breakouts, my skin is sensitive that way.

Olay, Celebrating 10 years of Passion

My first recollection of Oil of Ulay is that familiar bottle on my mom’s dresser that I tinkered with and even tried on my face once or twice when no one was looking. I guess it is that “kikay tendency” sprouting up at age 4. Interestingly, it was when Olay Total Effects came to Manila years ago that I tried it myself.  I loved it so much because of its being a one step beauty product. As kikay as I am, I can also be the laziest, with my tendency to drop a regimen with several steps in it.

Road Testing Obagi Professional-C Serum

As I mentioned in the previous post, I really was meaning to buy myself a Vitamin C serum, of a different brand, when Obagi Professional-C Serum came along. Talk about perfect timing. 🙂

Obagi Professional-C Serum 15%

Obagi Professional-C Serum comes with a dropper in a 30ml bottle. Sells for P4,850. Not cheap, I know. But you might as well drop on the floor when you find out the amount of money people actually waste buying hosts of products that do not actually work. If this bottle happens to work, for me at least, then it will be worth every centavo. I will let you in on my personal feedback in the coming weeks and months. 🙂

Obagi Celebrates 11 Years of skin care success

When herself, Sophie Uy, invited me to the House of Obagi event, I knew that there was no way I will miss that for the world. I have heard a lot of great things about the brand and it was a privilege to be given a glimpse of what The House of Obagi was made of from the expert themselves.

Aimee Demarais, the international trainor for Obagi products talked about the expertise of Obagi when it comes to skin care and essentially the very reason why they deliver. It is plain to see that there is no other generation that is more bombarded with hosts of beauty products than ours. It is then very important to look closely at the products that we use. As opposed to taking care of the root of the problem, what most products do is superficially cover skin issues which explains why skin problems go from bad to worse once you stop a regimen.

Easy Peel by Flawless

This self confessed “kikay” finally tried out one of Flawless’s beauty services early this month – the Easy Peel. For some reason, I’ve always felt hesitant getting my face done in beauty aesthetic places. Sure, I’ll take on spa, scrubs in a heartbeat. But not procedures on my face. But this Flawless first timer was pleasantly surprised that there is a resident doctor to accommodate my concerns as I went to visit Flawless in SM Marikina.
