Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner

One of the items I have a photo of from my first Health Options post was that of Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner. More than a couple of months since I started using it and I think my skin is loving it.

Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner 2 fl.oz. (59ml) retails for P59 (approx. $1.40)

I have since been using Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner in place of Nautreal’s Facial Cleanser. The ingredients of the latter being Licorice Extract, Mulberry Extract and Witch Hazel. My skin is finding the former to be friendlier and non-drying. Somehow after a couple of months of using Nautreal Facial Cleanser, I noticed my face becoming drier than usual.

Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner is non-drying and good for all skin types. It gently cleanses and conditions pores to maintain clear, smooth and balanced skin.  What I love best about it is it is 100% All Natural.  This toner is designed to:

  • refine pores
  • remove and control oil
  • soothe irritation
  • locks in moisture

Directions for use: Use daily after cleansing or before applying skin treatments. Moisten a cotton ball or pad and apply to face and neck. For best results, use in the morning to prepare and evening to repair for naturally soft and beautiful skin.

Nivea Lip Care: Nivea Natural Volume Lip Gloss

It was some weeks ago when Nivea sent Kikay Corner these awesome new ranges: Extra Whitening and Nivea Lip Care ranges. Even before Nivea Philippines got this sent, I have already bought one of these lip balms from a department store when I left my lip balm one Saturday afternoon.

I especially love the tinted Nivea lip balms. Kind of takes away the trouble of having to apply lipstick altogether during my many lazy days. My lips would, every so often go into this stubborn chapping spree and it can be pretty annoying if left unaddressed. I usually end up with bleeding lips because my no less stubborn fingers won’t stop tinkering with wayward dead skin that needs peeling off. I know just so well that I’m not alone in this predicament.

While I have tried the Nivea’s tinted lip balms, I’m trying these new lip babies for the first time. Both Nivea Pinkish Boost 3in1 and Nivea Natural Volume took me by their SPFs. The former being SPF15 and the latter, SPF30. Nivea Pinkish Boost 3in1 is said to restore natural lip color, reduces lip dullness and protects lips with SPF15.

Another Nivea Giveaway

Here is another Nivea Giveaway from Kikay Corner. I have been far too busy which just about explains the delay of this blog’s raffle giveaways. But whenever I see this boxful of products in front of my dresser, I know that I have got to do this one time or another before they pile up into a massive mess. For one, I can make use of the room for the Christmas gifts I need wrapped.

The box full of Nivea products above is still intact as of writing. Three (3) of Kikay Corner’s readers will be receiving one of each Nivea product from this box. As for the rest, I’m keeping them for my personal supply. I love Nivea Express Hydration lotion so much that I think I’ll stick with it until something better comes along. 🙂

Here’s what three of our blog readers will receive:  Nivea Pure & Natural Deodorant, Nivea Pure & Natural Wipes and Nivea Express Hydration Lotion

The 2 Winners of Kikay Corner’s Laybare Giveaway are…

First off, thanks to everyone who joined Kikay Corner’s Laybare Raffle Giveaway!  I’m launching another giveaway tomorrow. Clue: It is one of my favorite brands! I hoarded a boxful some months ago when it went on sale. But now that my hair is on a strict non-sulfate diet because of the Keratin Treatment I had done some couple of weeks back at Henri Calayag Salon, I am giving away a set. Now, that’s something to look forward to, especially for those who were not picked from the previous giveaways.

The winners have been drawn…

Lay Bare Giveaway

One of the many sponsors of Blogapalooza held at Fully Booked last September 17 was Lay Bare. Lay Bare will always be dear to me, as it is the one salon that introduced me to waxing more than two years ago.

As opposed to shaving, waxing encourages regrowth of finer hair. Not to mention having to do away with the unwanted hair for an extended period of time. Lay Bare combines the use of cold wax jelly with a patch-waxing technique. Cold wax jelly is said to eliminate the incidents of knicks, cuts or burns and relatively painless as compared to hot wax.

Here’s a few post-waxing reminders:
1. Refrain from washing the waxed part for 4 hours.
2. If you get waxed during the early evening, wait until the next day to wash the waxed area.
3. Don’t scratch or rub.
4. Avoid putting on makeup, lotion, powder, cologne, et. al, after getting waxed.
5. Apply antibacterial cream twice a day.
6. For redness or minor swelling, apply cold compress by wrapping an ice cube around a washcloth and press it gently on the waxed area.
7. Refrain from strenuous activities that will make you sweat to prevent bacterial infection.

Contest Alert: The Royal Power of Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Giveaway

I have been curious about Nivea Visage Q10 Plus ever since I have heard that the Duchess of Cambridge herself, Kate Middleton, was spotted purchasing a jar of Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Day Cream for £5.10. Anyone would have expected someone of her prominence will be patronizing higher end brands. She is said to be a fan of this Nivea Visage Q10 Plus collection as well.

This is why as soon as my current moisturizer runs out, I’m going to give this Nivea Visage Q10 Plus range a try.  I have to consider as well, of course, if the consistency of the products can fit our very humid tropical weather. I will let you know how it fares then. But given my loyalty to a few of Nivea’s products like the Express Hydration lotion, I actually have high hopes about this.

These Nivea products are currently sitting on my dresser and waiting for their queue. Like I generally would, before I use products for my skin, I make sure I know what it is made of and what it purposed to do. Allow me to do that just now.

The Nivea Visage Q10 Collection is said to diminish the appearance of wrinkles with its Q10 ingredient.  Since I am much of a fan of organic stuff, I have heard a lot about this Q10 co-enzyme being available through natural supplements. This is actually the first time I heard that it is used by a skin care line. Why not, when Q10, being a co-enzyme can work as an energizer that allows our skin to regenerate because of its anti-oxidative properties, right?  This is generally what this Nivea range is all about, to keep wrinkles at bay. As someone who is turning 35 in a few days, this is something I think I can make use of. (more…)

House of Obagi’s Latest: Obagi 360 (The Complete Obagi System)

It was in October 2010 when I was first given the privilege to not only get to know more about the The House of Obagi. I was also able to try the system for myself — the Obagi Condition & Enhance System, to be exact. It was not long after when I became a believer of the Obagi Professional C Serum. I love both, to this day!

Last Wednesday, I was reunited with fellow beauty bloggers for a lovely get together dinner at the Museum Cafe in Greenbelt 4, Makati. We were introduced to their latest, The Obagi 360 System. Our table was lucky to have dermatologist Dr. Allan Pua to indulge us with all our questions.

All of us girls in the table were in total disbelief when this good doctor told us that he was already 34 years old!  He could easily pass for a 20 year old, right?  In between the other girls’ gushes around the table, Dr. Allan Pua answered all the questions we have about skin care. I was looking into undergoing the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance procedure. So I asked him if it will be safe to have that done when I’m TTC. He told me against it. But he said that if I am sure that I’m not pregnant, then it is safe to try it out since the product that will be used will not stay long on the skin and the body’s overall system. Getting that answered meant a lot to me since I was not going to take any chances even for the sake of a better skin. Thanks, Doc! 🙂

Before and After Photos. Really, there’s no need to say more. The proof is all there. Obagi works! 🙂 (more…)
