Slimming System Review: Vaser Shape Plus by #AlluraBody #BodyGoals

Staying in shape is something that I admittedly, for the most part, have taken for granted. These days, as opposed to how I used to find it a breeze to lose excess pounds, it’s not as easy anymore. It must have something to do with age. I try to do planks everyday, it used to be a minute in the morning and another at night, but as expected, I’m back to just once a day. I try to squeeze in some squats and dumbbell lifting but I haven’t been very religious about it. So they don’t really count, I guess.

When it comes to staying fit, I’d have to say that it does take discipline and commitment. While I’m not really hopeless that I’d be able to muster enough of both, I might as well test the waters of non-invasive helps like Allura’s Vaser Shape Plus.

Ms. Mari of Allura

First off, a free body consult with Allura‘s pretty and charming manager, Ms. Mari. I’d have say that I gained quite a bit more understanding of the metabolic functions of the body, the significant difference of men’s collagen from women’s, which got me really wide-eyed that it’s basically my take away from the few minutes I sat in her office. Regardless of age, a man’s collagen is naturally more dense than that of a woman’s. “No fair!” Was my initial reaction. This explains why men’s skin are tighter, if they expand at all, they don’t look as flabby as women who add the same weight. But it does make sense, God has designed our bodies like such to accommodate the growth of the baby inside our bodies. It’s amazing, really!

collagen formation men vs women

This also explains why women age faster than women. Of course, that’s taking into account that men don’t usually use sunscreen as often as women. Which explains why the former statement sometimes go unnoticed. For one, men don’t use makeup and we do! Take off the makeup and the use of sunscreen, women will look more aged for sure and that’s because of the formation of the collagen inside our skin. (more…)

June 21 is National Wellness Day

As we celebrate National Wellness Day this coming June 21, 2013, we are made aware that 9 out of 10 leading causes of death in the Philippines are health related. It is one alarming fact. And did you also know that just by eating better, making small lifestyle changes and doing moderate activity on most days of the week, we can reduce the risk of many diseases and increase our quality of life?

The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) is advocating health and wellness in the workplace as one of the most important issues that companies need to address today. With this, PMAP will hold a nationwide event called National Wellness Day that is envisioned to be participated by various companies in the country, both PMAP and non-PMAP members, on June 21, 2013.

National Wellness Day

During a media roundtable interview recently, PMAP President Evelyn Grace C. Sorongon said that through the years, the organization have organized employee activities like sports fests, family day events and the likes for its member companies. “This time, we want to come up with an activity that will help promote awareness among employers and employees about the importance of being physically, emotionally and spiritually healthy.“

From figure trimmer to body shaper

It has been a good couple of weeks since I first tried working out using the Figure Trimmer Disc. I wish I could tell you that I’m into it religiously, but I am not. Good news is I am not about to give up on myself just yet. The fact that I could literally feel the stretch it does to my back every time I use it should tell me enough that it is one good workout to keep. Oh no, not keep hidden underneath my office desk but actually keep using it on a daily basis. 🙂

Kikay Corner tries out The Figure Trimmer Disc with Cord

There is no way I can anymore ignore the bulges in my midsection that seem to grow by the day. I had fun during the one hour barre3 session last Monday, all right. But I almost gave up to my shivering toes and crying muscles. And then came today’s live blood analysis over at the Tie a Green Ribbon event at Dusit Thani, I was reminded by the medical practitioner that I should quit the sedentary lifestyle. I just know I should do more than just “plan.”
